The Dane County Park Commission approved Resolution 072 to sell easements at Babcock County Park to the Kiganza sanitary district. Shireen Smith, real estate coordinator, told commissioners the transaction would convey about 0.32 acres of permanent limited easement and 0.05 acres of temporary limited easement for staging; the district offered $5,300 in compensation, again relying on the DOT appraisal.
A commissioner asked why the Kiganza sanitary district — rather than the town of Dunn sanitary district — was the buyer; staff explained there are multiple sanitary districts and separate lift stations and lines in the area. The commission approved the resolution by voice vote with no opposition recorded; staff will proceed with finalizing the easement conveyance.
