The Tinmouth Select Board held an informational session on a proposed timber-frame pavilion, presenting project background and a pending grant application. Moderator Holly Ross opened the meeting by stressing this was an informational meeting and that no votes or motions would be taken. Melody Squire, who led the proposal, said the pavilion is being offered as a gift to the town and that the town applied for a building communities recreational facilities grant after earlier opportunities closed.
Organizers described the pavilion as a timber-frame structure crafted by Timber Homes Vermont that had been contracted by the town of Marshfield but was left in storage after Marshfield's 2023 flooding. "This is a gift, for the town," Melody Squire said, describing a signed letter agreement with Marshfield and Timber Homes to move the frame to Tinmouth contingent on receiving funding. Presenters said a commercial building permit has been approved and that, after a site review, stormwater and wetlands permits were not required for the proposed location next to the playground and ball field. The project team said donated funds plus the grant would cover construction and that the town would be responsible for long-term maintenance if the project proceeds.
