Committee ranks Charlestown’s Irish Road first among TRI discretionary projects

On Oct. 27, 2025 the TRI Committee prioritized three discretionary projects for TRID funding, placing Town of Charlestown’s Irish Road first, Town of Stockbridge’s Hill Road second, and Town of Brothertown’s S. Washington Road third; the motion passed unanimously.
The Calumet County Town Road Improvement Committee reviewed candidate TRID projects and voted Oct. 27, 2025, to set the priority order for discretionary funding. Committee member Joe Kuhn moved, seconded by Mark Wunrow, to prioritize the TRID projects as: 1) Town of Charlestown — Irish Rd (Bancroft Rd to Peil Rd to Town limits); 2) Town of Stockbridge — Hill Rd (STH 55 to Vans Rd); 3) Town of Brothertown — S. Washington Rd (St Charles Rd to CTH H). The motion carried unanimously.
Committee members evaluated each project against four stated criteria: safety, reconstruction needs, traffic volume, and comprehensive planning. The prioritized list will be used for TRID funding consideration in the 2026–2027 cycle; because TRID submissions are automatically considered for TRIS (supplemental) funding, the same projects will be in the supplemental pool unless withdrawn.
