Commissioner Ina Pisani moved (Motion 1) to concentrate full funding on three smaller requests (ICARE, NBBC and IBR) while allocating the remaining applicants roughly 47% of their requests; Commissioner Greg Matsumoto seconded. Commissioner Charles Burton proposed an amendment to shift $2,000 from the American Canyon Community & Parks Foundation to Napa Wildlife Rescue; that amendment failed 7-0. A separate amendment by Commissioner Alex Pader that reallocated small amounts from several grantees to increase Napa Wildlife Rescue’s award passed 5-2. After a brief postponement to discuss a proposed scoring system, Commissioner Pader later moved (Motion 2) to add $230 to ICARE’s award for a total grant award set at $74,909; Commissioner Kimberly Richard seconded and the motion passed 6-1.
