Committee of the Board proposes 5–7 standing committees, adds Sheriff’s Grievance Committee
Summary
The committee recommended 5–7 standing committees, added a mandated Sheriff's Grievance Committee, combined Human Resources and Finance, and set each standing committee to have five supervisor members; community members will serve on HHS/Veterans Services and be proposed for Economic Development.
Committee members reviewed required and optional committees and recommended organizing the board into between "5 – 7 standing committees." The committee decided to add a mandated Sheriff's Grievance Committee and to combine the Human Resources and Finance committees into a single panel.
Members agreed each standing committee will have five supervisor members. They also said the Health and Human Services/Veterans Services Committee will include community members and proposed adding community members to the Economic Development Committee. The committee reviewed current non-standing/subcommittees, which will remain in place, and planned these standing-committee changes for inclusion in the draft Rules sent to WCA and Corporation Counsel.
