District says community‑schools grant supports eight sites; funding braided through 2032

Jenny Sall, program specialist for the district's Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP), presented an annual report on the program's fifth year of operation at eight identified sites.
Sall described the district's community‑schools model, aligned to LCAP goals and the National Community Schools Framework, and listed staff roles supporting the work (four credentialed counselors, four social service assistants, a district community schools nurse and a community liaison). She said site positions are braided across the CCSPP grant, Title I, and site allocations and that each identified site provides parent‑learning series, family supports and health partnerships. In response to trustee questions, staff said the governor's budget allocations extend funding for the current cohort's services through 2032 but do not automatically finance expansion to new sites; staff will continue to use braided local and state funds to sustain the eight identified sites.
Trustees asked how schools become identified as community schools; Sall said the state approves identified sites and staff will continue to make services available across district sites when possible. The board expressed appreciation for the program's impact on attendance, behavior and family engagement.
