CHP reports two unsatisfactory findings in district transportation terminal inspection; district says corrections underway

Melendez said the deficiencies involved carrier information documentation, specifically controlled-substance and alcohol testing retention, and incomplete or outdated carrier safety-compliance records.
Transportation leadership told the board the department is actively correcting recordkeeping errors, conducting regular compliance reviews and improving documentation so future CHP inspections will not produce repeat findings. "The transportation department is actively correcting all documentations [sic] deficiencies, regular compliance meetings, and recorded review," the presenter said. Board members asked for the written report; staff said the report arrived late and backup materials would be provided at the next meeting.
