Manager reports rising patron use and material counts; locked-door change delayed

Manager Nikolas Pelekis reported to trustees on Aug. 20 that staff had assisted 609 patrons over the past three months and that the library holds approximately 255 titles, 102 of which were donated by the Sonoma County Law Library.
"The Library currently maintains approximately 255 titles across various topics, 102 of which were donated by the Sonoma County Law Library," Nikolas said. He provided patron assistance numbers: May 186; June 219; July 220 (first month tracked March 2025: 93 patrons). Of 609 patrons in the period, staff identified 163 as legal professionals and 446 as members of the public.
The board discussed a previously decided practice to keep the library door locked when staff is not present; Nikolas reported the lock has not yet been changed and the Court has provided minimal explanation for the delay. Judge Solga agreed to raise the matter at the next Court Board meeting. Patron feedback was reported as consistently very positive.
