Calumet County to fly 6‑inch orthophotos, accepts USGS LiDAR grant for 2026

Orthophotos ("orthos") will be collected at 6‑inch resolution; Hess said orthos have no grant funding attached and will be done at the same price as 2024.
Hess told the council that flights are scheduled for April 2026 and that delivery and integration of the data into county workflows are expected in the fall of 2026. The presentation identified grant management and integration into county GIS workflows as next steps; no formal vote or appropriation was recorded in the meeting minutes.
