Petra and General Counsel Aka said partners sign contracts to abide by district policies and that the partnerships team and legal services will engage to determine whether partner personnel must take mandatory training rather than merely be notified.
Members also raised concerns about language and cultural issues — for example, in Dual Language Immersion and other multilingual settings — and asked how investigators or front-line staff should interpret interactions that take place in other languages. Aka said different levels of investigation exist depending on facts and that the district will consider how to incorporate cultural or language considerations into guidance and training for staff and partners.
