4‑H educators outline Baldwin Grant projects, summer camp staffing and school garden hire

Neil Klemme, Iron County 4‑H Youth Development Educator, reported that in November 2025 two Iron County youth research interns attended the Youth as Partners in Civic Leadership Conference as part of the Baldwin Grant. The interns are surveying local youth to identify a community project (options discussed include art, murals, statues, or landscaping). Klemme said he and two youth will attend the Wisconsin Counties Association Legislative Conference in February and will meet with a Wisconsin Arts Board representative to explore next steps.
Klemme also said camp staff applications are coming in and donor letters were mailed in early January; Serena Tauer is slated to return as a summer assistant and Klemme hopes Emily Moore will return pending confirmation. He reported that he received approval to hire an AmeriCorps Garden Coordinator to focus programming in the Hurley School Garden.
