The motion, made by Mrs. Deionne Carpenter and seconded by Mr. Phillip Evans, passed with four recorded yeas (Darrell Franks, Deionne Carpenter, Phillip Evans and Stanley Garrett), no nays, one absence (Author Robinson) and two abstentions (Kyle Potts and President Frank McLaren).
The Jury also set special election dates to fill the position: a primary on March 29, 2025, and a general election on May 3, 2025, with qualifying scheduled for January 29–31, 2025.
