Commission approves $10,010 replacement of Air Link routers in emergency vehicles

Brandon Ream, EMS deputy chief, asked the commissioners to approve replacing five Air Link routers and antennas in emergency vehicles, saying the units purchased in 2018 are 4G and experiencing connectivity issues. Ream gave the proposed cost as $9,768 for routers and antennas plus $1,200 for antenna installation, for a total of $10,009.68, to be paid from budget line items 3701 and 3702.
A commissioner moved to approve the purchase and the board voted 4-0. Commissioner Vickery thanked Ream for emphasizing the importance of functional GPS and connectivity for emergency response. "It's vital that you have the GPS, have that working," a commissioner said during discussion.
