County finance presented a notice of intent that the Hillsdale lights-and-sirens levy remain revenue neutral with a proposed mill levy of 1.851 mills. After a motion and second, the commission voted unanimously to authorize the chair to sign the notice.
"The proposed mill levy is 1.851," Sydney Ming, the director of finance, stated. Finance said the notice pertains only to the Hillsdale area and preserves current funding for street lights and sirens there.
The notice does not change countywide tax policy; it affirms that this local levy will stay at its current rate.
