Chair and a committee member say they will not run again; county to fill planning commission seat

Chair John Hadley and committee member Mary Anne McMillan Urell told the committee they will not seek re-election; a replacement will be needed on the Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission.
At the Feb. 5, 2026 meeting Chair John Hadley informed the Economic Development Committee that he and Ms. Mary Anne McMillan Urell will not run for re-election.
Hadley said he would like to meet again before new members are appointed. He also noted that Ms. McMillan Urell currently holds the county’s seat on the Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission and that a new appointment to that commission will be required when membership changes.
The discussion was recorded as part of the chair’s report; there was no formal vote or appointment at the meeting.
