The Winn Parish Police Jury voted to adopt the 2024 Amended Budget during its Dec. 16, 2024 meeting. The budget document presented by staff shows General Fund total revenues of $2,143,736.00 and total expenses of $2,378,640.00, a deficit of $234,904.00. The packet notes the 2023 audited fund balance and a resulting projected balance at Dec. 31, 2024 of $2,154,997.00.
Juror Deionne Carpenter moved to adopt the amended budget; the motion passed with six jurors in favor and one abstention. The meeting packet included line-item summaries for major funds (Road Fund, Health Unit, Sales Tax Fund, Library Fund and others) showing revenues, expenses and projected year-end balances. The Road Fund, for example, reported total revenues of $3,940,292.00 and total expenses of $3,677,142.00 with an estimated balance of $1,207,891.00 as of Dec. 31, 2024.
The adopted amended budget will guide county spending records for the close of the 2024 fiscal year and is accompanied in the record by detailed fund tables provided to jurors.
