Winn Parish seeks FY2025–26 capital outlay for multiple road projects; Blewer Road removed

On Oct. 21 the Winn Parish Police Jury voted to adopt a resolution applying for FY2025–2026 Capital Outlay funding for a set of parish roads, including Eugene Garrett, Frank White, Brownville, Aunt Marie’s Old Alexandria, L. Sullivan, Welcome Home, Mars Hill Church, Collins Camp, Louisiana, Arkansas, Lum Fox, part of Gum Springs and Bethlehem. Juror Stanley Garrett successfully requested Blewer Road be removed from the list before the resolution passed.
The Jury also adopted a separate resolution authorizing Henry Shuler of Shuler Consulting Company to draft and submit Capital Outlay requests on the Jury’s behalf. Additionally, the Jury adopted a resolution verifying $72,000 in matching funds for the Old Alexandria project and authorized President Frank McLaren to sign related documents. The capital-outlay resolution is entered as Resolution #017 of 2024 and related resolutions as #018 and #019 as noted in the minutes.
