The board approved renewal of delinquency prevention grants for juvenile court and approved a separate motion to apply for a West Georgia grant to purchase an automated external defibrillator (AED) for a new pickleball facility.
County staff also approved moving designated funding into the capital fund to advance the Whitesville Road Soccer Complex project; staff said the project would begin scheduling mowing and other work as contract completion neared and that payment would be monthly. Separately, staff discussed using general-fund money to pay for a vertical mowing contract, with work expected to begin in late August or early September and to take about six months.
All grant actions and funding motions were moved, seconded and approved by the board during the meeting.
