LaGrange resident asks county for help after commercial-grade fireworks disrupt neighborhood

Randy Ward, a 37-year District 3 resident, described repeated incidents during which commercial-grade fireworks were fired near his subdivision, sometimes ending only around midnight and leaving debris in yards and pools.
Ward recounted walking to the site calmly and being met with profanity and aggressive behavior. He said deputies told him the July 4 crowd kept officers busy and that enforcement options were limited. "It was rattling our windows," Ward said, and he reported finding fireworks in his pool and yard after the display. He asked the board for guidance on enforcing commercial-fireworks rules and whether the county could restrict use of rocket fireworks in developed neighborhoods.
Commissioners and staff responded that some limits on county enforcement exist and suggested homeowners associations may be one route for private controls; staff said they would look into county regulations and report back.
The board did not take immediate legislative action but said it would review existing regulations and enforcement options.
