Fairgrounds staff reviewed maintenance needs for grandstands, fencing and concessions and proposed an epoxy-like coating to extend life and address moisture problems in the stands. "There is sections of it where it's standing bad on the inside... there is sections that probably need to be replaced," fairgrounds staff said, and suggested coating to add decades of service life in some areas.
Staff also said they were collecting bids for camera systems and would return with two bids for commissioners to consider. The fair schedule was confirmed (opening ceremonies at 06:15, relay at 06:30 and PRCA rodeo at 7:00 for one event day), and staff asked commissioners to permit modest capital and maintenance spending after the fair to address identified problems.
Next steps: staff to return with camera bids and cost estimates for grandstand repairs and coating as part of capital planning.
