Highway staff told the Select Board that paving, shouldering and apron work were finished and that routine preparations for winter were underway. The crew reported ordering a replacement bed chain and continuing spot repairs where low spots existed after the paving contract.
The highway foreman proposed rebuilding the town’s Grizzly screen using concrete block piers so the unit would be movable and easier to service. "I'd like to rebuild the Grizzly... I think it's gonna be about $1,500," the staff member said; board members agreed that using locally available blocks would be acceptable and that the work could proceed by consent.
