A board member flagged a 13% rise in premiums and said, "The increase itself was 13%, and then I added in 5 to $7,000 to cover the HSA," noting the draft had been adjusted to try to cover both the premium increase and additional HSA exposure. Members also discussed whether diesel and gasoline estimates should be trimmed (one member suggested cutting diesel from 35 to 30) and whether to raise the gravel line from previously budgeted amounts to better reflect recent use.
Board members debated paving priorities and town contributions to paving projects. One participant cited a figure, saying simply, "125,000," as part of the paving conversation about where grant and local funds would be applied. The board did not finalize the budget on Jan. 9; members agreed to reconvene in two weeks so staff (Eric) can provide clarifying information and updated attachments before the warning and final budget decisions.
