On Jan. 13 the American Fork City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-01-02 amending Section 15.01.110 of the municipal code to remove standard side yard easements. The ordinance passed unanimously on a motion by Clark Taylor.
The Council also approved the Standard Operating Procedures required under the city's MS4 permit, delegating implementation and future updates to the Storm Drain Division to ensure ongoing compliance. A separate code text amendment clarifying property-owner responsibility for sidewalk cleaning (Section 12.12.030) was postponed for further discussion at a future work session.
