Greene County approves $3.21 million supplemental budget for water projects and volunteer fire truck

The Greene County Board of Supervisors voted to approve a supplemental appropriation not to exceed $3,210,000 to record $3,000,000 in General Assembly funding for White Run Reservoir water projects and $210,000 to cover a volunteer fire company apparatus payment. County staff told the board the $3,000,000 award was included in the state budget and that because the total supplemental exceeds 1% of the general fund a public hearing was required.
No members of the public signed up to comment during the hearing. Speaker 14 explained the invoice timing for the fire apparatus and said the truck had already arrived and entered service. Speaker 9 moved to approve the appropriation; the board approved it by roll-call vote. The staff report filed with the board will be placed in the record and county accounting staff said they will reconcile the FY2026 accounts to reflect the payment.
