The county handled multiple ditch-district actions in joint and county ditch board sessions through spring and summer 2015. The Clay Creek Ditch Board and Yankton‑Clay Ditch Board approved payment of large invoices related to cleanout work and laterals performed by Pollman Excavation, including an $84,591.99 invoice for Phase 2 cleanout and later invoices totaling tens of thousands more for laterals 1B, 2B and 50B.
At an August 25 meeting the Prairie Center landowners and the Board agreed to have Pollman Excavation remove trees and for the county weed department to spray annually where needed; the Board authorized mailing letters to landowners in taxed drainage districts to clarify parcel inclusion. The ditch boards set levies for assessed original costs (for example, a 40% levy for Clay Creek Ditch District for 2015 payable 2016 was approved earlier in the year).
