Ward County HSZ unanimously approves agenda, minutes and financials; notes Great Plains Food Bank distribution and welcomes new member

The Ward County Human Service Zone Board recorded unanimous approval of routine items at its Jan. 20 meeting. Jason Olson moved and Miranda Schuler seconded a motion to accept the meeting agenda; Miranda Schuler moved and Jason Olson seconded approval of the Dec. 16, 2025 minutes; Miranda Schuler moved and Virginia Lee seconded a motion to receive and file all financial documents; and Jason Olson moved and Miranda Schuler seconded a motion to receive and file the Adjunct Data Reports. Each motion is recorded in the minutes as "unanimously approved by the Board."
The minutes record a brief discussion that some bills are approved before all signatures from the Chairman of the Commission are obtained; Director Kristi Frederick described that as a formality and noted the county does not have authority over the state. The board also noted that, since the state has taken over Youthworks, the zone no longer receives that program's data.
Director Frederick reported that "all 84 boxes from the Great Plains Food Bank Pantry are gone." The board also recorded that Frederick will be on annual leave Jan. 26–30, 2026, and welcomed new Zone Board member Krista Opstedal, NDCP. The meeting was adjourned at 8:18 a.m. after a motion by Miranda Schuler and a second from Jason Olson; the minutes record the vote as unanimous.
