The Muskegon County Land Bank Authority on June 16 accepted its financial report and unanimously instructed staff to prepare and issue a Request for Proposals for professional audit services.
At the meeting Chair Moulatsiotis opened discussion and Board member Cyr moved to accept the financials and place them on file; the motion passed with full board support. Deputy Treasurer Stacy Starr urged the board to obtain an independent audit because the Land Bank is now administering grant funds. Following that, Cyr moved and Kilgo seconded a motion directing staff to issue an RFP for an independent audit; the motion was approved by all members present.
Board members also requested a staff report listing properties tied to grant activity, including amounts spent, amounts reimbursed, and amounts pending reimbursement. The board set no firm deadline for the RFP in the minutes; staff were directed to prepare the solicitation and return with a timeline and recommendations. The next board meeting is scheduled for July 21, 2026.
