Curriculum committee: NJSLA scores delayed to December; district says no impact on instruction

The curriculum committee told the board it expects a delay in NJSLA (state assessment) score release until December, a change driven by state-level scoring schedules and committee meetings to set cut scores.
"There will be no impact on student instruction without those scores in place," a district staff member said, noting the district has other assessment data to appropriately program students. The committee also reported ongoing ESEA grant application work and listed items including course reimbursement, home instruction and a K–2 reading pilot for board consideration.
Committee members noted the delay is due to the state's timeline for determining cut scores and rescores once those benchmarks are decided; the board expects to receive updates as the state releases results and will proceed with local program planning using available data.
