The council approved the consent calendar in a single motion. Items included approval of the January 12, 2026 minutes; reappointment of Ken Walsh (alternate) and Steve Miranda (regular member) to the juvenile hearing board with terms noted through 2026 and 2028 respectively; approval of a Verizon New England petition to install a utility pole and anchors on Allen Drive; and appointment of John Parker as harbor master through 12/31/2026, submitted by the director of community services and parks.
The council later considered the appointment of Tom Plunkett as a Democratic alternate member to the board of canvassers for a six‑year term (to expire 01/26/2032). The council moved, seconded and approved that appointment.
