Council recognizes long-serving volunteers for cemetery, juvenile board and school-construction work

The council paused regular business to present four commendations, thanking community volunteers for sustained service. Mark Schwager read each citation and the council approved the commendations by voice vote before recipients or their representatives joined the dais to accept.
Darren Murphy, who the council noted has served 12 years on the historic cemetery advisory commission, told the meeting, "I'm proud to at least provide a voice for the voiceless, the people that are buried in the cemeteries," and described the commission's work preserving grave sites and compiling a registry of more than 90 cemeteries. Heather Larkin was recognized for over nine years on the juvenile hearing board, Jacob Frey for his contribution to the school construction committee (noting he has taken a construction-manager role with Consigli), and Greg Dubell for two years on the planning board.
