Hanover’s DEIC tells supervisors it’s growing local clean‑energy startups and pilots

The DEIC representative noted local outcomes and companies supported, including Aura Energy (which grew to a 55,000‑square‑foot manufacturing facility) and Okavate Energy’s agrivoltaics pilot in eastern Hanover. "Since '09, we've really taken this to heart and focused on supporting Virginia's climate tech and clean energy entrepreneurs," the presenter said. The board welcomed the report and staff offered to coordinate tours and follow‑up on pilot opportunities in the county.
