Rhett Hansen, superintendent of Noxious Weeds, told the Jefferson County commissioners on Jan. 20 that the department proposes rate increases for contract spraying. "There will be a public hearing on February 17," Hansen said, and the board approved publication of the proposed rates to notify the public.
Commissioner Young moved to publish the proposed fee changes for notice and Commissioner Clark seconded; roll call votes were all recorded as aye. The action does not itself adopt new rates — it only authorizes the public notice and sets the hearing date, where final decisions will be made after public input.
Hansen also noted ongoing operational preparations (vehicle readiness) and reported attendance at a recent training; no dollar amounts for the proposed rate changes were given in the meeting record.
