Library Director Kat told trustees that IT and AV installations are progressing toward readiness for the Aug. 8 opening. She said the network is now connected to the Breezeline circuit, meaning the building has its own Internet, patron computers are set up and staff computers are being replaced with towers and monitors. "The network now has, now is connected to the Breezeline circuit, which means the building has its own Internet," Kat reported.
Kat noted the AV equipment is in place but IT is waiting on a couple of items that are expected to be installed the following week; staff are also working on a print-and-pay kiosk so patrons can print from patron computers and pay. IT staff are aware of the Aug. 8 deadline and prioritizing tasks to meet that timeline. Board members asked for clarification about whether the Wi‑Fi issue referred to patron machine access or the entire network; the director explained there had been an interim piggyback to the nearby fire station's network until the Breezeline circuit installation was completed.
The board requested additional details on outstanding items and appreciated the confirmation that AV and patron technology had worked during recent rented events at the branch.
