At the July 21 meeting, Library Director Kat presented a revised director's report summarizing June system statistics and a fiscal-year overview. She reported that the Upper King William branch circulated just over 1,000 items in June and recorded 1,489 visitors during its first month of operations. "Upper King William circulated just over 1000 items and brought in 1,489 visitors," Kat said, adding that staff created 190 new library cards at Upper King William and 42 at West Point.
Kat described the figures as "pretty exciting" for a first month and pointed out an uptick in digital resource usage, particularly Canopy, likely related to summer schedules. The fiscal-year report (July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026) also summarized system-wide accomplishments: relabeling items across the system, implementing a room-reservation and programming tool, launching a monthly newsletter, supporting the branch renovation and onboarding nine new staff members, and opening the new branch on May 28.
Board members asked clarifying questions about which IT pieces remained outstanding; Kat noted patron computers are set up, staff computers are being replaced and a print kiosk remains to be completed. The director offered to provide additional detail in future reports as work continues.
