Patrick County tourism staff told the council they will pivot toward more digital advertising in 2026 and that they have applied to the Arrivalist Co-op Program, a travel-tracking data cooperative the Virginia Tourism Corporation supports, to obtain visitation data for marketing and grant applications. Marketing Manager Grace Cooper said Arrivalist data can be used for marketing initiatives and grant support.
James Houchins said staff plan geofenced targeted marketing (work previously done with local partners), will pursue marketing opportunities at the Greensboro Grasshoppers stadium, and intends to present a plaque at Primland in February for a recent accomplishment. James also noted that the county has relatively few overnight stay locations, which complicates the state’s "heads in beds" goals and affects tourism strategy.
