Peninsula Trail Riders report 50th Peninsula Hamptown Classic, donations and scholarship fund

George Greer, event coordinator for the Peninsula Trail Riders, presented a summary of the club's Peninsula Hamptown Classic motorcycle race held May 30–31 at Heritage Park Fairgrounds and thanked county staff and partners for support.
"Our club met a similar milestone as we marked the 50th year promoting this race," Greer said, describing about 500 racers, roughly 560 volunteer hours, and a growth in attendance of about 10% over the prior two years. He said the club donates fees to the county treasurer, makes contributions to Windsor Volunteer Rescue Squad and fairground maintenance, and is establishing a student scholarship fund.
Greer presented a 50th-anniversary plaque to County Administrator Don Robertson in recognition of the county's ongoing support. Board members and staff thanked the club and reiterated appreciation for volunteers and local business partners who help stage the event.
