Council hears streets report; seeks options on street sweeping
Summary
Public works staff told the council crews will repaint business district lines and school crosswalks; council requested quotes for hiring out sweeping and for repairing an existing sweeper.
Dana Horn delivered the water, sewer and streets report and told the council, “We will be painting lines through [the] Business District and will paint school crosswalks at the same time.” Horn also presented three quotes for used street sweepers.
Council members asked staff to pursue additional estimates, specifically (1) a quote to contract out street sweeping services and (2) a repair estimate for the current street sweeper. No procurement decisions were made; the council requested further cost comparisons.
