Health department accepts KDHE grant, announces community events

Neosho County Health Department accepted a Kansas Department of Health & Environment grant for the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 fiscal year and announced March and June community events including an Easter Egg Drive‑Thru and a baby shower at the SEK Impact Center.
Taylor Noyce, director of the Neosho County Health Department, presented grant packets showing funding levels from the previous six years and asked the commission to accept a KDHE grant for the fiscal period July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Commissioner Galemore moved to accept the KDHE grant application; Commissioner Westhoff seconded and the motion passed 3‑0.
Noyce also announced community programs: 'Mommy and Me' will meet on the first Thursday of every month; an Easter Egg Drive‑Thru is scheduled for March 26, 2026; and a Neosho County Baby Shower will be held at the SEK Impact Center in Chanute on June 11 from 4:00–6:00 p.m. The commission recorded acceptance of the grant application and no conditions were listed in the minutes.
