Peter Jones of the Alliance for Housing Progress asked whether notes, commentary, or other work product from the review would be subject to public-records requests, saying it would be helpful to see the paper trail rather than repeat earlier work. He summarized the concern tersely: "Work product."
Committee members and staff responded that written work product is likely not producible: "No. Probably not," one member said. However, staff and county counsel said they could provide the list of questions the committee has posed and, if answers exist and are releasable, supply those answers. Jordan Gautelli (County Attorney's Office) indicated he would emphasize the request to the official reviewers and include the issue in a follow-up email.
No formal records decision was made at the meeting; staff committed to getting the committee's questions in writing and to inform the body whether any answers or other records could be shared before the Aug. 20 meeting.
