Council extends temporary outdoor dining license for Finn's Harborside through Nov. 30

The East Greenwich Town Council voted unanimously Aug. 12 to extend Finn's Harborside's temporary outdoor service authorization through Nov. 30 under the state's expedited-permitting provision for businesses affected by casualty damage.
Connor Finn, representing the family that operates the restaurant, told the council the site is open Wednesday through Sunday with food trucks and a limited menu while the upstairs kitchen is readied and the damaged kitchen's exhaust is on order. He said the goal is to expand food service by Labor Day and return to full indoor operation by October or the new year. The motion to extend the operating authorization carried 5-0.
Councilors noted the extension is tied to state Department of Health approvals for kitchen facilities and to compliance with the conditions the council attached when it first authorized temporary outdoor service in June.
