The East Greenwich Town Council unanimously approved a proclamation honoring Judge Daniel A. Procaccini on his retirement from the Rhode Island Superior Court, effective May 31, 2025.
Judge Procaccini, who told the council he and his wife moved to East Greenwich 38 years ago, thanked the town for the recognition and reflected on his career and public service. “It was such a wonderful place to live, raise our son, Daniel,” he said. An attorney who spoke at the ceremony praised the judge for his fairness and courage, saying, “He had a brain, he had a heart, and most of all, he had courage.” Councilors offered additional remarks and the proclamation was carried by a 4–0 vote.
The proclamation notes Judge Procaccini?s appointment to the Rhode Island Superior Court in 2001 and his earlier service to East Greenwich as town solicitor and a member of the zoning board of review. Council members and guests who spoke highlighted his decades of local and state service and his stated commitment to impartiality and integrity in the courtroom.
