Board approves payroll, encumbrances (net increases) and two fundraisers

The Vian Board of Education voted to approve the presented payroll, encumbrances and warrants for all funds during the Oct. 14 meeting. The minutes record approval of encumbrance numbers 213 through 227 and changes resulting in a net increase of $18,172.44 within the 2024–2025 General Fund and approval of encumbrance number 12 and changes resulting in a net increase of $109,317.10 within the 2024–2025 Building Fund.
The board also approved fundraisers listed in the minutes: the junior class 'Magical Holidays' (wrapping paper and Christmas decor) scheduled Oct. 20–Nov. 15 to raise prom funds, and Leadership's 'World's Finest Chocolate' sale in October to support speaker, state dues, and activities. The motion on these items was moved by Ford and seconded by Cotner; the vote recorded as unanimous.
