Hanover County School Board elects chair and vice chair for 2026–27
Summary
At its July 14 meeting, the Hanover County School Board elected its chair and vice chair for the 2026–27 year in uncontested votes and named the chair and vice chair as delegates to the VSBA convention.
The Hanover County School Board unanimously approved nominations for its leadership for the 2026–27 year, appointing the nominated chair and vice chair by voice vote.
Dr. Schroff nominated the candidate for chair and the board confirmed the choice with no opposition. Following the vote, the chair said she would “gladly serve as the chair for the 26–27 (school) year.” The board then nominated and confirmed Dr. Schroff as vice chair and approved the customary seat change for the two officers. The board also approved a motion to designate the chair and vice chair as the delegate and alternate to the Virginia School Boards Association convention.
The votes were taken by voice; the record shows no roll-call tallies. The leadership appointments were presented at the start of the board’s July 14 meeting and were followed by a series of recognitions and routine business.
