The Jefferson County Board approved the final plat amendment for Butler Island Estates Division No. 1, expanding an earlier four-lot approval into nine lots.
Planning staff explained the amendment adds two one-acre lots back into the subdivision, extends Lot 4 slightly and creates six additional lots. The applicants sought to retain an existing 26-foot private-road easement instead of converting to a 60-foot public easement under current ordinance. Planning staff noted a preexisting road-maintenance agreement for the area and recommended approval given the family-held nature of the property and the configuration of accesses.
Commissioners asked questions about floodplain areas and lot access from the 4200 road; staff confirmed portions of the plat are in a flood plain and identified existing road agreements. After discussion, a motion to approve the final plat was moved and seconded; the board carried the motion by roll call.
The decision is procedural approval of the amended plat; staff and the applicant were instructed to ensure deed records and maintenance agreements are documented as part of final recording.
