FAA review underway for Runway 17/35 closeout; reimbursement timing affects contractor payment

Trey Dail, the airport consultant, told commissioners the Runway 17/35 Reconstruction closeout report has been submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration and that the FAA program manager acknowledged receipt and will review it promptly. Trey said he expected to hear back "this week" and that a favorable review would allow the airport to submit the final request for reimbursement.
Haley Walker, the airport manager, said the airport has prepared the reimbursement claim but is awaiting FAA confirmation before issuing the outstanding contractor payment. Haley discussed the County Treasurer's capacity to temporarily "float" payment but said the airport needs confidence that the FAA reimbursement will occur prior to the end of the fiscal year. She also said the FAA typically limits reimbursement to 90% until closeout and that the airport has requested an exception to allow the contractor to be paid and to close the related Connect Oregon grant.
