On Nov. 5 the Houston County Board of Commissioners voted to accept a $300,000 Juvenile Justice Incentive Grant (subgrant number Y25-8-017). Commissioner Robinson presented the item and the motion passed unanimously.
The grant is intended to fund local evidence-based programs serving youth who are at moderate to high risk for reoffending or who might otherwise be committed to the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. The Board provided approval to accept grant funding and did not attach additional conditions at the meeting; staff will complete the grant acceptance paperwork and initiate program planning.
