The Houston County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a memorandum of understanding recognizing Rainbow House Children's Resource Center as the designated Child Advocacy Center for the county.
Commissioner Robinson presented the MOU as a community-wide coordinated effort to provide a team response to allegations of child abuse. Chairman Perdue said the MOU is renewed annually and is used by various local agencies as a guideline for addressing instances of child abuse. The motion to approve signing the MOU was made by Ms. Robinson, seconded by Mr. Gottwals, and carried unanimously.
County officials described the action as an administrative recognition that facilitates interagency cooperation; the MOU itself outlines roles and coordination between local agencies and Rainbow House.
