Commissioners approve personnel hire and declare aging dump truck surplus

On Oct. 15 the Houston County Board approved the hiring of Shanavia Rogers as a Deputy Clerk in Juvenile Court at grade 14 step B, effective Oct. 16, after the Personnel Department reviewed and confirmed her qualifications. Commissioner Gottwals presented the hire and the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Talton also presented a request to declare a 2003 International 7600 tandem dump truck surplus due to age and electrical issues; the board approved placing the vehicle on GovDeals for online auction. Both items were approved by unanimous vote.
