Houston County approves ARPA grants for homeless services, schools and animal shelter

The motion passed unanimously after Chairman Perdue paused to recognize community partners in attendance.
Mayor Patrick, representing the City of Warner Robins, thanked the Board for the $15,000 award to Haven Hope House; Mayor Patrick said the shelter "will be open and running in the next few months." Haven Hope House Director Brian Wise also expressed gratitude to the Board. Valkyrie Anderson, Executive Director of Houston County Family Connection, said the organization's $10,000 award "would be used at the July 2025 Back to School Bash event," and introduced Stephanie Robinson, the group's collaborative chair.
The funding is intended for operating support of community services; the Board made the award decisions by motion and unanimous vote. Next steps noted at the meeting: partner organizations will proceed with their planned programs and staff will complete administrative payments. The Board did not attach further conditions to these awards beyond standard county disbursement procedures.
