Keith Brann, the county Zoning Administrator, told the Board that Osceola County’s zoning ordinance currently lacks provisions addressing data centers and that he has received inquiries from developers. The Board voted unanimously to ask the Osceola County Planning Commission to draft updates to the ordinance to address data centers.
Supervisor Jayson Vande Hoef moved to approve the referral and Jeff Loring seconded. The minutes show the action was approved with all supervisors voting aye. The Planning Commission will prepare proposed language and return recommendations to the Board for subsequent consideration.
